Tag Days and N.U.T. Days
Tag Days occur once a month and are noted on the calendar for the month. A Tag Day is a day where students may wear their “comfortable” clothes, using the guidelines below. The money is used for some particular purpose, a charitable donation or a educational purpose at St. Anthony’s School.
A N.U.T. Day (No Uniform Today) is a pass that is given to students which they may use to wear their “comfortable” clothes. Children receive N.U.T. Day passes for their birthdays (September birthdays will receive them later in the month), and for special other events or service. The N.U.T. Day pass should be given to the teacher on that day.
Although we are being casual, we are still a Catholic School and the following guidelines must be followed:
Girls: No shorts above the knee. Flips flops and sandals are also not permitted for safety reasons. No midriff-baring blouses. Shirts with appropriately modest necklines are encouraged. No T-shirts with inappropriate language, graphics or slogans will be permitted. Short skirts (well above the knee) are also not permitted. Fad hairstyles and dangling earrings would also not be appropriate.
Boys: No shorts or pants that are below the waistline, no flip flops or sandals (for safety reasons), and no T-shirts that have inappropriate language, graphics or slogans are permitted. We also ask the boys to refrain from sleeveless tank tops. The guidelines for hairstyles require neat, clean hair that is not in the eyes.
We would hope that no phone call has to be made to a parent because of inappropriate clothing. Teachers will also be advising parents of infractions for both the uniform and Tag Day/N.U.T.day rules. We thank you for your cooperation and support as we try to keep clothing appropriate for school.
